No, the library does not purchase books for courses. These will have to be purchased from the bookstore.

Occasionally, professors do put certain required books on reserve for students. These are often only available for limited use, and some may only be used in the library. To see if a book you need is on reserve, follow the instructions below.

Course Reserve

Instructors place items on Course Reserve for students to either checkout or view in the library.  The checkout period varies.  Items on Course Reserve may include:

  • Books
  • Articles
  • Movies

On the WorldCat Discovery page, there is a gray bar with a "Course Reserves" button at the top of the page.

On the Course Reserves page, you can search for the course or instructor's name, or browse the list of all course reserves.

If an item is marked "LUO," it is Library Use Only and cannot be taken out of the library.
